The ways in which we communicate are ever evolving as we discover which platforms work best for our school community. To be helpful, here are the apps and sites we use:

La Perouse PUblic school website

Our school’s DET website is an original landing page for an overview about the school. Its main function is the ability to pay voluntary contributions to our public school fees and for other events such as excursions.
It’s a good starting point to direct future students to learn about the school. Functionally our school utilises other platforms such as Class Dojo, WhatsApp and Facebook for day-to-day communication.

The key feature of our official DET website is the ability to make online payments for school fees and school activities or events.

LPPS P&C Website

This website is hosted by the P&C to make life easier for parents. It enables parents to purchase uniforms, find out when the uniform shop is open for trying on items and collecting items.
Information about pre-loved uniforms can be found here. P&C relies on the school community to volunteer their time for events such as Fathers Day breakfasts, fundraisers and other events at the school. The volunteering efforts can also be coordinated through this site.
Donations for the P&C can be made through the site. We have also pages that celebrate our History, Alumni and Community.

Classdojo App

This app is used by all classes in the school. It is a way for you to communicate directly with teachers as well as see how your child is doing in school. Dojos (aka points) are rewarded to the students for positive learning behaviour.

Whatsapp Group text chat

Informal chatter between parents and carers.
Class groups facilitate class specific conversation. All the P&C info will additionally be messaged through these groups.

To join the conversation, ask your classroom teacher or email our P&C with the request and they will add you - laperousepandc@gmail.com
Please share the details of these class groups with your LPPS friends in other grades so they can be advised of activities like uniform shop openings, fundraising, working bees and seek answers to their questions.

The P&C Facebook and Instagram pages are how we celebrate and promote all of our community initiatives. We’ll continue to monitor if we need to utilise this channel of communication going forward - as we utilise this website and the WhatsApp groups more.

We also have a La Perouse Public School 150th Event Facebook page.
This was for a specific event which was held in 2018 to celebrate 150th anniversary of the school. You can check it out the wonderful celebration which the school and P&C jointly hosted, however, given this page was a specific event, we are not actively updating it. We expect it to remain active given the historic significance and alumni engagement.

SCHOOL NEWSLETTER

Our school produces a monthly newsletter which keeps us up to date with achievements and activities for the month together with important dates for the diary for the coming month.


P&C NEWSLETTER

The P&C send out 2-3 newsletters a year, with updates about the website, dates for the diary or other news. Subscribe to our newsletter on our website to be added to the mailing list.
