SPORTS At LA Perouse Public ScHool

La Perouse Public School has a huge playground in which our students love to run and explore. We have the facilities to host our athletics carnival, walkathons and cross country events, right within our school grounds.
We have a netball/basketball court as well as plenty of handball courts which are popular as our school is where the ABC Me children's TV show Hardball is filmed.

Our school has partnerships with AFL Swans/GO Foundation, South Cares - Souths Juniors NRL, Sydney FC soccer/football, Cricket Australia, Next Gen and Gymnastics.
As a result, our students benefit from workshops, gala days and programs that are coached by teachers and sportspeople.

Our school has an approach to PSSA sport (years 3 to 6), that is based on participation of all students and the fostering of team spirit that the whole school supports.
Students proudly represent La Perouse Public School each week in a variety of school sports including OzTag & Soccer at a PSSA level.

La Perouse Public School has three sporting houses, Manuka, Tarlinga and Yulinga, with Student House Leaders elected each year by our students.
It’s a wonderful leadership opportunity for our students who co-lead sporting events with staff and play an important role of encouraging physical activity and participation.

We are also lucky to have incredibly talented Alumni/Graduates of La Perouse Public School, many of whom have represented NSW and Australia professionally at their chosen and sometimes multiple sports.
We are grateful to have our former students return to our school regularly to inspire our kids with talks, coaching clinics and award ceremonies.

La Perouse Public School is proud to be the home of IndigiGrow who are amazing!
The inspiring Peter Cooley and his IndigiGrow team call La Perouse Public School home for their wonderful nursery of native plants. Our students are lucky to have insights and education from Peter and his team, right within our school grounds.
